With a dark, hammered tsuchime finish along the flats showing the marks of its forged origins, the 202mm / 8″ blade’s stainless cladding then receives a silky, satin polish above a vein of pure nickel, the steel formula culminating at a matte-grey etched edge of VToku-2 carbon steel. Especially thin and razor sharp beneath superbly shaped convex bevels, the edge is designed for precision slices, the upswept, needle-like tip adding to the blade’s versatility in the kitchen, or behind the sushi counter. For comfort and control, Dmitriy has handled this one-of-a-kind build with a tapering, traditional wa handle of the finest luthier grade Australian Ringed Gidgee complemented by a bolster of Ukranian Bog Oak.
