Australian artist Saul Kokkinos-Kennedy’s contribution to The Art of Cutlery, a chef knife named “Hypervelocity,” on show during summer 2024 in Tribeca, NYC, features a novel and remarkable one-piece, all-steel construction method developed by Saul over many years of research. Compound primary bevel geometry and a full-distal taper create a lightweight blade shaped for versatility and performance from 14c28n stainless steel hardened to 62 HRC. A hollow handle crafted from an austenitic stainless alloy and seamlessly bonded to the bade combines concave faces and convex channels into a comfortable, ergonomic form that emphasizes the knife’s high-speed styling. A unique, brushed finish is used across all surfaces. Built and finished for work on the cutting board, this knife arrives razor sharp.
