Austrian artist Benjamin Kamon’s collaboration with New York City artist Si Golraine for The Art of Cutlery, a chef knife named “High Frequency,” on show during summer 2024 in Tribeca, NYC, combines Benjamin’s performance-driven bladesmithing with Si’s unique titanium artistry. The blade is hand-forged from tungsten-carbon steel, finished with Benjamin’s wave texturing, and bares his pronounced full-distal taper along the spine and convex bevels for cutting performance. The handle, sculpted from titanium, and the saya, with its titanium scales, are brush anodized by Si in her distinct and unprecedented artistic style. Sharp and hard at the edge, this tool is built for daily kitchen use.
