Bladesmith Leszek Sikon’s well-loved Graphite chef knife receives the copper treatment with this beautiful build featuring a razor-sharp 197mm / 7.8″ cutting edge beneath layers of copper over a 26c3 ‘Spicy White’ carbon core. Tall, convex bevel geometry and a full-distal taper along the rounded spine give the blade the workhorse qualities any chef will appreciate in a do-it-all build. Tough and rigid at the rear where the heel stands 54mm tall, the blade is primed for chopping tasks small and large. Moving forward, versatility and precision are enjoyed as the bevels slim progressively toward an extremely fine, needle-like tip, perfect for delicate slices and detail cuts. A stretch of forge-finishing along the blade’s flats and the hand-hewn beauty of the brute-de-forge integral bolster show the hammer marks of the knife’s thoughtfully forged origins. Beyond the bolster, through which copper creeps, is yet more copper: copper-infused, reclaimed-denim micarta in Leszek’s usual, comfortable, wa-style octagonal handle form provides control over this handsome tool.
